Proper Food Combining

Posted by T. Friday, April 30, 2010 0 comments

Let’s talk about food combining today. It isn’t something you need to pay too much attention to at first…your main focus is to eat raw and STAY raw. Once you have been eating raw for awhile and are ready to take this to the next level, proper food combining is the next step.

Basically, different foods digest at different rates of speed. If we eat a food that digests quickly with a food that digests more slowly it can result in gas or bloating and maybe heartburn. To avoid these problems, use proper food combining…

  • Fruit digests most quickly…takes an hour or two….it’s best to eat alone because it doesn’t combine well with other foods (different digestion rates) and it’s best to eat it on an empty stomach.
  • Melons should always be eaten alone. They digest very quickly.
  • Fresh juices and smoothies should be taken on an empty stomach and at least 30 min before any other food. They also digest very quickly.
  • It’s best not to eat fruit and veggies together…fruit digests fast and veggies much more slowly.
  • Any greens and veggies go well together.
  • Avocados combine well with fruit and veggies.
These are basic guidelines. Use it as a basic rule, but you don’t have to go boogie over it :)

I have been asked on a few occasions for some kind of an outline on what to eat on a daily basis. I came across this in one of my cookbooks and wanted to share it with you. I was planning to log what I have been doing on a daily basis, but I believe God is calling me to fast and pray concerning what He is doing in my own heart. The things that I share with you in the teaching section are new to me as well. I am learning and healing right along with you. So, I’ll write what I found in my book to hopefully help you to eat raw and stay raw :)

The first thing she talks about is eating MORE…not less to reduce weight. A lot of us want to lose weight to be fit, some of us need to gain…remember the section on what to add to your diet to gain necessary weight…So, today we will concentrate on losing. So far I have lost about 20 pounds…I have about 20 to go I think.

Side note for a second…youngest son just popped his head in the office where I am typing and said… “Hey Mom…you know what?” I stopped typing and asked him “What”…he went on… “80% of boys have girl friends, the other 20% have brains!” I love that kid!

So…eating more to lose weight…a new concept for me…She says to add a piece of fruit or a serving of vegetables rather than a full entrée.

Second tip is to start exercising. Walk, get on that treadmill you begged your husband for and never use anymore, if your husband has weights, start lifting a little bit. Don’t go and work out for an hour the first day! Just a few min a few times a day…till you reach muscle exhaustion….means your legs are so tired you can’t take another step… For me that’s all of 2 min as fast as I can on my stair stepper. It says I burned 20 calories…not a whole lot, but if I manage to do it 5 times in a day it adds up. I also put it right in the middle of my foyer so I have to walk by it all day…I am more apt to actually USE it! I have to admit that I do hang my coat on it sometimes…it’s handy :)

This is a basic outline. If you don’t have oranges, but you do have bananas (which I have a ton of :) ) eat bananas! Or whatever else you like. This is to give you an idea of what to do. I personally don’t want to eat too many nuts or use too much oil in my salad dressing because I still want to reduce. Nuts are what comes to mind when I’m hungry…it helps to have something like this handy so you can remember the bananas in those times instead of another handful of nuts.

Breakfast…some kind of smoothie…remember to put the handful of greens in it!
Snack…3 or 4 pieces of any fruit
Lunch…large salad…mix it up each day…different dressing, different ingredients, add some avocado one day and a handful of nuts the next then skip the fat all together the third day…make it interesting.
Snack…2 or 3 pieces of fruit
Dinner…make a raw entrée if you’d like or have a different kind of salad like a Kale Salad.
Snack…have fun with this one and have a raw dessert, but only 1 or 2 pieces so as not to overload your system in the evening. Just enough to satisfy that sweet tooth.

There you have what would be a typical day of food…it’s a lot to be sure and some days you’ll probably want all of it, some days you won’t want so much. Learn to listen to your body. Once all the junk is purged out you’ll be able to “hear” what your body needs…not what your cravings want. Your body will “tell” you what nutrients it needs.

For those chocolate cravings?? (you are more than likely needing potassium, magnesium and zinc…supplements are ok, but chocolate is way better!!!) If you don’t want to make the coconut macaroon cookies (my favorite) then I made a really good hot chocolate, by accident really. Take about 2 heaping tbs of regular cocoa powder (raw cocoa powder tastes more like coffee…cool…I REALLY miss my café lattes!!!) So, back to the hot cocoa…2 heaping tbs of cocoa, about 4 tbs of agave syrup, a tsp of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. You should have enough agave in the mix to make a syrup…add warm water and enjoy…this will make one of my huge coffee cups…most of you have seen them…they are the biggest coffee cups they sell I think :)

I hope this helps….

Forgive

Posted by T. 1 comments

Part of coming to a place where you can have a positive impact on those around you involves forgiveness…receiving and giving forgiveness. The only way you are going to be truly free is when you forgive those who have hurt you. The only way you will be forgiven is when you forgive those who have hurt you…

The Word of God is VERY clear on this subject. Mat 6:15, Mk 11:26, Luke 6:37. Most of you know what these Scriptures say. Take the time to read them again and then start thinking…ask God to help you, to bring to light those you need to forgive. By forgiving them you will not only bring a release in your own life, but also theirs!! What a powerful thing to be able to do! You hold in your hand the ability to lighten someone else’s load! Read John 20:23….

Cheesecake…this is really good!

Crust:

2 c pecans
½ c raisins
2 tbs cocoa butter…this needs to be ordered by mail..it is a bit pricey, but the flavor is unsurpassable!

Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend till crumbly…press into the bottom of a springform pan

Filling:
3 c cashews
1 tsp vanilla
½ c raw cocoa butter
¾ c freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ c agave syrup
¼ c coconut oil
½ tsp sea salt

Soak cashews for 3 hours or so, drain and rinse. Process all ingredients until completely smooth.

Topping:
½ c cocoa powder
¼ c cocoa butter
2 tsp agave syrup

Combine all ingredients into a bowl and mix well (till it’s a sauce) then drizzle over your cake.

You can make this days in advance if you’d like, simply store in the freezer. Take it out and let it thaw for a few hours before serving.

Recipe: Cannolis

Posted by T. Thursday, April 29, 2010 0 comments

These really don’t taste like the real thing, especially when you have been spoiled by Caruso’s, but they aren’t bad :)

Wrappers
4 c soaked or sprouted wheat
2 c pitted dates
¾ or so c of water

Blend till smooth and spread on a dehydrator sheet. Dehydrate till pliable but holds together. Cut into 2x4 inch rectangles.

Filling
2 c cashews
1 large lemon juiced (use fresh)
4 tsp agave syrup
2 tsp braggs aminos
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp water

Blend until very smooth and spoon onto the wrapper. Roll the wrapper like a cannoli.

Have you ever wished that someone would have come along and taken you under her wing? Have you read in the Scripture where the Bible tells older women to teach the younger women and longed for some one to teach you…you know…things like HOW to actually care for this baby?? HOW are you supposed to love this man you have pledged your life to when he is driving you NUTS?? HOW to be a Godly woman??

If you are like me you have longed for, cried for a woman to be a true mother to you. One who will love you without criticism and see past the outside into your heart and take the time to listen to you and teach you, one you can truly call a friend. Well, ladies, if you are like me, that never came. I was ridiculed and criticized for what I did not know. They would say things like “That’s common sense” when I would ask a question. Well, it wasn’t common to me! I needed help and acceptance, not what they were handing me. I have learned that there is no such thing as common sense…sense is only common to the one who has had the experience and has learned the lesson. So, what is the answer to the cry of our heart?

The answer is this…You need to BE the woman you always needed! You need to be the mother to love, explain to and accept the hurting woman beside you. You need to remember from whence you came, remember the hurt you felt when no one was there for you…remember what it felt like to be rejected and criticized when what you really needed was for somebody to just tell you what you were supposed to do! You be the one to show that lady how much God loves her. Show her how to wrap her baby, show her how to change that diaper so the baby doesn’t get a rash and how to rock the baby so she stops crying…take the baby for a few minutes and give her a break! Take the two year old for a walk in the yard so she can use the bathroom! Do the things for her that you wished someone would do for you. The possibilities are endless for how you can show her the love of her Father, show her she is not alone and that she is WORTH something! YOU can be the hand of God, reaching out. It can and it will change people’s lives and it takes so little effort. Be kind, be gentle and remember that whatever you give shall be given unto you.

Real Answers to Hard Questions: What Am I Worth?

Posted by T. Tuesday, April 27, 2010 0 comments

Have you ever wondered…even asked yourself the question…what am I worth? You may have asked it differently…like, what am I good for?? What is my purpose?? Sound familiar? Well, I think it’s about time we took a look at that very important question and answered it. If we are ever going to become women of God, we must be able to answer that question. (tune in men…you’ll learn some things about yourself too :) ) I am going to ask you to look up the Scriptures that I list, to actually study for yourself because that’s the way you will learn the best…the word of God is life to us and it is health to all of our flesh. It isn’t good enough to just hear what someone else has to say. You have to read it yourself…YOU have to apply it to YOURSELF.

The question is what are we worth…what am I worth. I want you to ask yourself that question and try to answer it…jot what you think down in a notebook. It’ll only be for you to see, but you need to start to ask yourself some hard questions, questions that need answers. I am going to answer the questions as I have asked myself. They are my opinion of myself, the result of my life. Yours may be the same, they may be different, you may be able to relate or you may have no idea where I got such ideas! I will be totally open and honest with you, bearing my soul. We will look into the Word of God and see what He has to say. It is my hope and prayer that we will begin to see ourselves as God sees us, not as we have been molded by our environment to see ourselves. As we begin to see ourselves as He sees us we will begin to change into that image, changing the lives of our children, of our husbands and of the people around us. It’s time we understood who we are so we can have the impact God intends us to have in these last days….so… let our journey begin!

When I ask myself the question…what am I worth or what is my purpose, I have to stop and really think because my first thought is I’m worth nothing…that my existence was a mistake. Well, that isn’t true, not because I feel it isn’t true, not because I look like it isn’t true. It is not the truth because GOD said it isn’t true! Pause for a minute and read what He has to say…PS 139:13,14, PS 22:9, 10, PS 71:6 and Gal 1:15.

After having read these Scriptures, I cannot say that I was a mistake. So, back to the question, what am I worth? What does the Scripture say? Well, He says that He loved me so much that He gave His only Son to die in my place, so I could be clean, so I could walk with Him, blameless. Jesus bore all my pain and suffering, my disease, my guilt, my poverty on His own body. Isa 53:5, 1Pet 2:24. What kind of a picture does that paint? I guess I must mean a lot to my Father, my worth is that of His daughter. The thing is every single human being can say the same thing through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. He no longer sees us…He sees Jesus. We are washed and covered in the precious blood of Jesus. So…what happens when we allow our thoughts and our words to speak things contrary to what He has said? If we are covered by His blood, if we are renewed, restored and healed by His word, what happens when we speak and think outside of that Word? The simple answer is death and destruction.

God has called us, He has told us it’s time to “Step Up”! He has asked us to become what He wants us to be by being renewed in His Word, not to stay as we are…what we perceive ourselves to be by our own thoughts or the opinions of others. In order to change we must examine ourselves in the light of the New Testament, identify the areas that are lacking and change our thinking to live up to that picture painted in the Scripture. Ask questions, answer honestly, keep in mind that it’s the truth as we LIVE it that brings change, not the truth as we KNOW it. We, as a church, have heard the Word of God preached for 25 years. If the truth as we know it changed us we would be giants. We need to LIVE what we have been taught. We need to change and make that determination TODAY. Ladies, we are the answer, we are the ones that can make the difference. We have been told all our lives that we are the problem, but that is NOT true…WE ARE THE ANSWER!!! God’s truth must be established in our lives TODAY…the truth according to the Scripture, not according to our own perceptions or our own thoughts. We MUST study to show ourselves approved so that we will not be ashamed. We MUST get on our faces before God to hear from heaven…not to hear how much He loves us, but to hear what we need to do to show THEM…out there…how much He loves them! We have been bought with a price, a costly price. We need to be transformed starting today. Rom 12:2, 1 Cor 6:20, 1 Cor 7:23

Raw Ravioli..now this was really good :)

“pasta”
4 turnips

Cheese filling
1 c pine nuts
1 c cashews
1 c parsley
8 tsp lemon juice (use fresh squeezed lemons, it really makes a big difference)
6 tsp braggs liquid aminos
2 cloves garlic

Sauce
2 ½ c tomatoes
12 sun dried tomatoes
3 dates
¼ c olive oil
4 cloves garlic
2 tbs parsley
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne

For the wrapper:
Slice turnips paper thin into round disks

For the cheese filling:
Blend nuts till creamy and then add the rest and blend until smooth

Sauce:
Put everything into the processor or blender and blend till smooth.

Assembly
Put one slice of a turnip on your cutting board, place some filling on it and fold it in half…the filling is what makes it stick together so a little out the edges is ok. Put them all in a dish and pour the sauce over it. Let it set at room temp for a couple of hours or so to soften the turnips… Check the tip and trick for today

To heat up a dish so it’s still raw without using the microwave…

Take a large pot and fill it with hot water. Put it on the stove…take a smaller pan that will fit inside the first one (basically a double boiler). Stir gently but constantly so it doesn’t get too hot… The hot water will heat your food up to a warm temp without over-heating anything :)

Don’t ever use a microwave! The microwave radiation changes the molecular make up of the food you are heating to such a degree that your body no longer can use it or even recognize it as food!!

Recipe: A HUGE Salad!

Posted by T. Monday, April 19, 2010 0 comments

A HUGE salad!

A large bowl (I’m talking large SERVING bowl) of greens (all kinds)
A large handful of any kind of sprouts
A bunch of parsley
A handful of mint
A handful of basil leaves
1 to 2 lemons
Coconut or olive oil
Sea salt

Squeeze the lemons over the salad, drizzle the oil and sprinkle with salt. Mix well.

Then add a ripe avocado chopped.

A handful of hemp or flax seeds.

And a handful of Dulse (a seaweed you can find at Peter’s).

Toss gently and enjoy!

I have been asked where to get some of the less common items. We have been able to find all of the ingredients of the recipes I have posted between Hannaford and Peter’s Cornucopia.

Here are some of our findings:

Nuts are cheaper at Peter’s.

We cannot find raw chocolate…what’s raw does not resemble chocolate… We have just been using regular baking cocoa when a recipe calls for chocolate.

Pine nuts are of questionable origin. Hannaford has some in a small package that says they are grown someplace other than China, but most sources are either silent or say they are from China. We use them sparingly… besides they are very expensive.

Macadamia nuts are another tough one to find… they are really expensive too and we mostly avoid them. Usually you can use cashews instead and it tastes fine.

We also have mixed what ever nut is called for in a recipe half and half with sunflower seeds… this also works well and cuts the cost considerably.

Light agave syrup (the only one Hannaford sells) isn’t raw. Only the dark agave is. Peter’s has the dark and if you buy the large bottle it’s cheaper than Hannaford.

You can get most of the grains that are called for in Peters. You know they are raw if they sprout.

If anyone has a specific question, please feel free to ask… we’ll see if we can find the answer.

We have a birthday dinner to get ready! So far on the menu is a cheese cake and some cannolis! He said as long as he has those he’ll be happy so us girls get to pick the rest of the menu. Cheese and crackers used to be a favorite so I am dehydrating some cheese now and will get some flax crackers dehydrating soon. I plan to post all of the recipes we use for the birthday dinner. So, stay tuned for those recipes including the cheese and crackers!

Vitamin K Deficiency Symptoms... and Cure!

Posted by T. Friday, April 16, 2010 2 comments

Got the taxes filed yesterday… nothing like waiting till the last second :)

I learned something yesterday that I wanted to share with everybody… well, the ladies anyway…

I found out that heavy menstrual cycles, nasty cramps and pain in the ovaries in between cycles is most often simply a Vit K deficiency and a high estrogen level. Did you know that those symptoms are one of the most common reasons doctors give women a hysterectomy?? Guess what that means ladies??? That means MORE GREEN SMOOTHIES! The raw food diet itself is going to bring the estrogen levels into balance. How we end up with an excess is through meat and dairy products. Eliminate those and our hormones will balance out. All we need to do is drink more green smoothies… Vit K is abundant in collard, kale, romaine and other greens.

Here is another example where God gave us exactly what we need to be healthy and strong and keep all of our parts! The recipe section for a couple of days will be some different smoothies.

I owe you a couple for days missed so here are a few green smoothie recipes…

The basic directions for each of these is to chop them up into small pieces, or even process in your food processor. Combine everything and blend in the blender until smooth. Another shortcut you can use, although, not quite as good, is to buy the frozen fruit chunks in the store. They are blanched, but better than going without. Make sure you add a huge handful of greens! If you need the extra calories, add a handful of cashews to each smoothie. These smoothies will help to balance your hormones (don’t worry, it cannot hurt guys :) ) and replenish your body of much needed Vitamin K (a deficiency causes heavy menstrual cycles, bad cramps and in-between cycle pain). They also will help you to lose weight if you need to. If you add the nuts you shouldn’t loose weight. If you do lose and you don’t want to, add more nuts, more bananas and/or some flax oil or flax seed. All are very good for you and will help you to maintain or even gain weight.

1:
1 mango, peeled and pit removed
1 c kale, chopped
1 c water

2:
1 handful of dandelion greens
2 stalks of celery
½ inch fresh ginger
½ pineapple

3:
3 c cantaloupe, cubed
1 bunch parsley

4:
1 bunch parsley
1 cucumber (I wash it and leave the peel on)
1 apple
1 banana
1-2 c water

5:
3 c dandelion greens
1 apple
1 c water
1 mango
1 peach

Ranch Dressing

1 c cashew or almond butter
½ c water
3 tb lemon juice (I like a little less)
Pinch of salt
1tsp vinegar
1 tsp Italian seasoning or dill (I like dill…it’s more like ranch dressing)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 stalk celery.

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or a blender, blend until smooth.

Almond milk… you’ll never have to buy that expensive, sugar and chemical-loaded almond milk again! This is so easy!

1 c raw almond
4 c water
¼ c agave syrup
Pinch of sea salt
Up to a tsp of vanilla extract (start with less to your taste)

1. Put the almonds and the water in your blender and process till almonds are fine and the water is white.

2. Pour the whole thing into a cheese cloth or a nut bag and drain over a big bowl. You can help it along by squeezing the cloth.

3. Add the rest of the ingredients to your almond milk and enjoy like regular milk.

Now… what to do with the left over almond pulp…

Almond Milk CHEEZE!

1. Put the pulp into a food processor

2. Add: 2 or 3 garlic cloves

3. 2 tbs olive oil

4. A couple of pinches of salt

5. A handful of pine nuts (make sure they are NOT from China!) (You don’t have to have these, they just add to the cheese flavor)

6. Any spice you’d like… peppers, onion, Italian seasoning, dill, horseradish etc.

You can also add some nutritional yeast (you can get it on Amazon.com). This also adds to the cheese flavor and is very good for you. This is a little softer than cheese and it really isn’t the same, but it is good.

Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

1 c olive oil

1 tsp each sea alt and black pepper
2 tsp each oregano and basil

Blend all the ingredients in a blender.

Optional ingredients to give different flavors:
Dash of cayenne
Chop a red pepper and add to blender, blend till smooth

Up until now I have been saying that eating a raw food diet of fresh fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds will heal… well, to be exact, the food doesn’t actually heal… your body does the healing. God made our bodies to rejuvenate themselves. Think about it, people in the Old Testament lived hundreds of years, having children, and working very hard for most of those years! They were strong and healthy and very very old by our definition. The same way your body heals a cut on your finger will it heal itself of all the horrible diseases we have come to accept as common in our day… including aging! All we need to do is give it the proper building blocks.

Think of it like this: If you hired a master builder and told him to build a magnificent building and gave him nothing to build with, at the end of the time he may have something, but it will not be anywhere near his potential. If you give him the tools and the proper materials, on the other hand, he’ll have a masterpiece to show for it. Our bodies are the same way. God is the Master Builder and He gave us all the tools and materials we need to keep this temple strong.

If we eat the foods He originally intended us to eat as outlined in Genesis when He spoke to Adam and Eve, we will be strong and healthy until we go home to be with Him. I’m not saying we’ll live to be 900 years old, but that’s ok by me! I’ll take 100 strong, healthy and productive years! How about you?

When you buy fruit from the store, a lot of times it is unripe. No problem… take your unripe fruit and put it in a brown paper bag, put a ripe banana in the bag and fold it, leaving it out on the counter. Within a day or two you’ll have nice ripe fruit!

These are fantastic and so so easy!

Chocolate Coconut Cookies!

3 c dried and unsweetened shredded coconut
1 ½ c unsweetened cocoa powder (cocoa powder isn’t raw, carob powder is. I have used both in this recipe and both are great! Peter’s has raw carob powder)
1 c agave syrup (I like a little less)
1/3 c coconut butter (this is actually coconut oil. We like the Garden Of Life brand, but any raw coconut oil will do… make sure it is unheated though.)
1 tbs vanilla extract
½ tsp sea salt

Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl and form into balls… enjoy! (Make sure you set some aside for your husband when he gets home though! These go very very fast :) )

Kale Salad Recipe

Posted by T. Saturday, April 10, 2010 0 comments

Another so easy and so good recipe!

Kale Salad

for about 1 person… double as necessary

Approximately 1 bunch of kale, stems removed and chopped as small as possible
1 avocado
Tsp or so of sea salt
Dash of cayenne pepper

Wash your hands. :)
Now, with your hands, squish the ingredients together until well blended.
Add a diced tomato.
Mix with a spoon and it’s ready to go!

When you use kale in a raw recipe there is an easy way to make it more palatable and less chewy.

1. Remove the stems and lay your kale leaf on your cutting board.

2. When you have 5 or so leaves stacked on top of each other, roll the pile into a cigar shaped roll, as tightly as possible.

3. With your knife, cut the roll into very thin strips. This is called a chiffonade cut… fancy French name. :) Now your kale is in thin ribbons.

4. Put your ribbons into the bowl and, with your hands, massage the kale till water is releases from the leaves. This means it is becoming tender.

5. Continue until the kale is nice and wilted and has reduced size (you started out with a whole bowl, now you have 1/3 of a bowl).

6. Proceed with your recipe and you’ll have nice, tender kale that no one will believe isn’t steamed!

Did you know that eating a raw food diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seed with no cooked or processed food will do this???

  • Cure acne
  • Relieve arthritis
  • Relieve the pain you have no idea what it’s from
  • Relieve back pain
  • Cause your eye sight to improve
Stay tuned for more!

Did You Know?

Posted by T. Friday, April 9, 2010 0 comments

Did you know??

Eating a diet of raw fruits and vegetables, eliminating all cooked and processed foods has been scientifically and medically documented to:

  • Completely reverse diabetes
  • Eliminate cancer, even in stage 4
  • Cause painless childbirth (I wish I’d found this BEFORE I had kids!)
  • Cause cramps and PMS to be a thing of the past (Now we know our husbands will love this diet :) )
  • Regulate menstrual flow
  • Get rid of headaches, including migraines
Stay tuned for more……

You’re going to love this one… so easy and so good!

Guacamole for 1 person (double as necessary)

1 ripe avocado, skin and pit removed, scoop out of the skin and cut it into cubes
1 ripe roma tomato, diced
About 1 tsp (more or less as you like) onion
Sprinkle of sea salt

Mix it together and enjoy… you can eat this plain or put it on a lettuce leaf for a sandwich!

You can easily and mess-free cut an avocado by simply cutting it in half lengthwise, remove the pit (carefully hold the avocado half in one hand, take a sharp knife and chop the pit with the blade of the knife. The knife should be stuck a little into the pit. Simply turn the knife and the pit dislodges).

Now take your knife and cut the avocado into a checkerboard or a tic tac toe board, being careful not to cut through the skin to cut your hand.

Take a spoon and scoop out the avocado… it’s already chopped for you… and there is no mess. :)

Tomato, Mushroom and Basil Salad

Posted by T. Thursday, April 8, 2010 0 comments

Tomato, Mushroom and Basil Salad

4 Roma tomatoes
7-10 large button type mushrooms, sliced
½ c olive oil
½ c fresh basil chopped or 4 tbs dried basil
2 large garlic cloves or 2 tbs minced garlic
¼ tsp sea salt

Dice the tomatoes, slice the mushrooms and put them into a bowl
Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour over the mushrooms and tomatoes. Stir well to combine and enjoy!

Hello!

So, you are wanting to improve your health and maybe have heard about the raw diet. If you are anything like me you are at a place of desperation…you need answers, you need help and you need it NOW! I hope through sharing my heart, my experiences, my victories and my failures, I can help you find the answers you need. We’ll share together, cook (or I should say ‘uncook’ :) ) together and learn together. This is going to be FUN!!

Let me start by telling you a little about what was happening with me, with my family. My husband of 25 years has diabetes. His mother died from complications form the disease when she was 48 years old. His health was declining, he had ulcers on his feet, his sugar levels were high and things were not getting better. We have been praying concerning this condition for many years, speaking the Word of God over him, doing all we knew to do. Things would maintain, but never completely go away. It was a frustrating situation to say the least. You know what I mean... I am sure you all have been there. It’s a fight of faith, you believe, you trust God for the healing, you trust Him for the answers and you hang on. Well, at the end of Feb 2010, God put the answer in our laps! Over the years, we have spent untold amounts of money on so called guaranteed to work gimmicks…none of them worked. So, when we found the video “How to Cure Diabetes in 30 Days” on YouTube, we were skeptical. We watched the whole thing and decided to give it a try. We followed the diet exactly…and you know what??? IT WORKED!!! His sugar level is normal, the wound is almost healed, his complexion is pink again and the list goes on and on. We feel like we did when we were kids… you remember the days…full of energy, bound out of bed…everything was brighter then. Today, for this household, things are bright again! Colors are brighter, eye sight is clearer; brain fog is a thing of the past. I actually have energy! I thought that was long gone…you know, as in before kids…

A really cool thing is the extra weight we carry since we had our last baby… is melting off with absolutely no effort. I know you have heard that song and dance a million times and probably bought whatever product they were selling to “melt those pounds away…with no dieting” We all have I think… No, this time it’s for real. I am not selling anything. I am telling you that you will spend less money over time, that you will look and feel like a million bucks and the extra weight will melt away. Now, for the people who have a hard time gaining weight, amazingly, this works for you too…you will actually gain weight, effortlessly, good, solid muscle, not just empty fat. It is astounding!

There are tons of web sites on the net to tell you about the raw diet. You may be wondering, why another blog. The reason is this: I have searched for many many hours and I have found some really good information, but, I had to wade through the trash. So many of them are entwined with spiritualism and the New Age. Sometimes it’s hard to take out the good and leave the bad. That is the reason we started this blog… to hopefully do that weeding for you and show you how eating like this lines up with the Bible! Again, you’ll be amazed! The New Agers and the spiritualists all got it from God’s Word anyway…we are only going back to the Author. God wants His church to be healthy and strong. As it is now the church is sick. It’s time that changed! He gave us the answer, it’s easy, it works and it feels so good! What more can we ask for. He told us that His way was easy… why do we always try to make things so hard?
